The project’s first phase included restoration of the underground garage and its waterproofing, whereas the rest of the work mostly concerned the building’s landscaping. The natural curved shapes of the new design recreate the nearby sand dunes in this modern and hard context. The planting design also strengthens its ties to the sea cost using the same type of decorative grasses. The pathways are covered with Comblanchien stone, creating a link with the colour of sand at the Zwin reservoir, whereas the material’s shape and size tie it to the current pedestrian pavement continuing the open space all around the building.
